Missions
Oakland Baptist Church partners with a number of people and organizations to provide opportunities for you to make a difference in the world. We believe God calls us to reach out and help our neighbor, whether they be our next-door neighbor or live across continents. This is accomplished through a variety of sources, creativity, time, energy, and financial commitments. Partners with whom we work and support include:
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (National)
Cooperative Baptist Church Field Personnel, Janee Angel
Oakland Baptist Church Ministry Center
Pathways Community Center
Life House Women’s Shelter
Bethel Shelters
HOPE of Rock Hill
Children’s Attention Home
Family Promise of York County
English as a Second Language
Carolina Immigrant Alliance
York County Free Medical Clinic
We offer hands on mission opportunities for all ages. From serving meals at Bethel and Life House Shelters, to playing games with our friends at Pathways, to sorting food at Hope of Rock Hill, to picking up litter around town, to running the Ministry Center, to hosting Family Promise, we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ in tangible ways in our community and beyond.
If you are looking for a way to use your time and talents in service to our neighbors in need, contact Leigh Reynolds and she will help connect you to great opportunities.
Every Fall we emphasize the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s Offering for Global Missions. The money given from OBC joins with the gifts of other generous people and congregations to fund the long-term presence of CBF field personnel serving around the world. Support of the offering for Global Missions helps share the Gospel message and provide tangible gifts of God’s grace and mercy.
