Children’s Ministry

At Oakland, we partner with families to nurture strong spiritual growth in children, creating opportunities for families to build relationships and serve together. We want every child to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ—knowing God not just with their head, but with a heart knowledge that moves them to love God and to love and serve others.

Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School meets each Sunday at 9:15 AM. Classes include Bible study, hands-on activities, and practical life application. Children learn key Bible skills—such as navigating Scripture and memorizing verses—while discovering how God has shown love and faithfulness to people throughout the Bible.

OBC Kids

Our children meet together on Sunday afternoons for a time of faith formation and to learn about local and global missions. They learn their relationship to God and how they can make a meaningful difference, sharing God’s love with others.

Young Musicians

Our music ministry for children, Young Musicians, meets on Sunday afternoons and welcomes all children from kindergarten through fifth grade. This engaging time of singing, learning, and worship helps children grow in their understanding of God and offers opportunities to lead in worship services.

Special Events & Experiences

During the summer, we host Vacation Bible School and attend PASSPORTkids camp at Montreat.

Throughout the year, our children enjoy a variety of fun and faith-building events. These gatherings provide meaningful moments of discipleship, fellowship, and connection for both children and their families.
