Worship begins on Sundays at 10:30AM. We have Sunday School classes for all ages that begin at 9:15AM.
-
Worship begins at 10:30 AM. Most folks start filtering into the sanctuary around 10:15, which gives you a few minutes to get settled and meet a friendly face or two.
-
We have two convenient parking lots. The lot directly connected to our building is ideal if you'd like to enter on the ground level and take the elevator up to the sanctuary. The lot across Ebenezer Ave. offers a more direct route straight to the sanctuary entrance.
-
There are two welcoming entrances to choose from. If you're heading straight to worship, the front doors facing the corner of Ebenezer and Oakland Ave. lead directly into the sanctuary and are most easily reached from the lot across Ebenezer. If you're coming in through the covered walkway entrance (between the playground and gym), just step through the double glass doors and friendly faces will be happy to point you toward the sanctuary, a Sunday School class, the nursery, or the restrooms. You can't go wrong with either door!
-
There's no dress code here! On any given Sunday you'll see everything from ties and dresses to jeans and casual tops. Come exactly as you are! Whatever makes you feel most comfortable is perfectly welcome.
-
Yes, we have childcare during Sunday School and worship for children 4 and younger.

Worship at Oakland is rooted in tradition but shaped by the life of our community today. Some Sundays feel more classical and contemplative; others are a little more creative and conversational. Most weeks, it's a natural blend of both. You can expect scripture, shared prayer, congregational singing, and music from our choir, piano, organ, guitar, handbells, and other musicians from our church family. Children are invited forward each week for a special children's moment tied to the theme of the day. Services run approximately one hour.
-
Our worship music spans a wide range from beloved traditional hymns sung by the full congregation, choral anthems from our choir, and contemporary songs led with guitar, drums, and more.
-
When you arrive, you'll receive a Worship Guide with everything you need - printed prayers, scripture, litanies, and helpful cues for when to stand. Just follow along at your own comfort level.
-
Just yourself. Everything you need will be provided when you arrive.
-
Yes! The sanctuary is on the second floor and fully accessible by elevator. To reach it, enter through the double glass doors at the end of the covered walkway, located beside the playground.
-
You'll be warmly greeted when you arrive, but you won't be called out or put on the spot during the service. We do invite first-time worshippers to fill out a brief contact card, but it's entirely optional, no pressure at all.
-
The offering plate is passed each week as an act of worship, but giving is never expected of guests. Many of our regular members give online, so it's completely normal for the plate to pass right along without anything dropped in.
-
Absolutely. We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month, and everyone is welcome at the table regardless of age, faith background, or membership status.
-
Worship closes with a benediction, and from there you're free to head out or linger as long as you like. It's common for people to stay and chat for a few minutes so don't be surprised if someone strikes up a conversation!
-
Your Worship Guide will include announcements and a QR code linking to more information. You're also welcome to call us at 803-328-3864 or email obcoffice@oaklandchurch.com. And if you fill out a contact card, we'll be in touch!

We welcome all people to fellowship, study, worship, and serve with us.
-
Not at all. Whether you've claimed faith in Christ your whole life, are exploring for the first time, or fall somewhere in between, you are welcome here, exactly as you are.
-
We practice believer's baptism, which follows a personal profession of faith and is administered by the Pastor through immersion. That said, we warmly welcome into our fellowship anyone who has been baptized by immersion, sprinkling, or pouring.
-
You won't be put on the spot, not even a little. Whether this is your first time ever in a church or you're simply finding your way back, you're welcome to come just as you are, sit back, and take it all in.
