Missions

Oakland Baptist Church partners with a number of people and organizations to provide opportunities for you to make a difference in the world.  We believe God calls us to reach out and help our neighbor, whether they be our next door neighbor or live across continents. This is accomplished through a variety of sources, creativity, time, energy, and financial commitments. Partners with whom we work and support include:

  • Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (National)

  • Cooperative Baptist Church Field Personnel, Nell Green

  • Cooperative Baptist Church Field Personnel, Janee Angel

We offer hands on mission opportunities for all ages. From children assembling breakfast bags for our friends at Family Promise or collecting cleaning supplies for the Ministry Center, to youth delivering food to Project Hope or spending a week in the summer serving those who are in need, to adults participating in Habitat for Humanity or helping families rebuild following natural disasters, we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ in tangible ways in our community and beyond.

Twice a year we emphasize the CBF offering for global missions.  The money given from OBC joins with the gifts of other generous people to fund the long-term presence of CBF field personnel serving around the world. Support of the offering for Global Missions helps share the Gospel message and provide tangible gifts of God’s grace and mercy.
