Oakland Baptist Church, a theologically moderate church located in Rock Hill, SC, is seeking an Associate Minister for Missions and Spiritual Formations. Our church offers two distinct weekly worship experiences, a variety of opportunities for spiritual growth, mission and ministry project opportunities, an expansive music program, and focused ministries for children, youth, and adults. In particular, our church provides regular opportunities for Bible study and other forms of Christian education, public worship, service, and fellowship. We are an inclusive and open fellowship, seeking to love all people by being the hands and feet of Christ in our community and around the world.

The Associate Minister for Missions and Spiritual Formations will, first and foremost, be a devoted follower of Christ. Our candidate will hold a divinity degree. We prefer that our candidate has experience as a church educational leader and a passion to share the Gospel by leading the church in missional activities and programs.

In addition, we hope to fill this position with someone who possesses a variety of gifts. Our Search Committee is interested in any and all areas of expertise (e.g. preaching, facility management, teaching, program development, technology, music, art, community involvement, administration, counseling, visitation, etc.) and encourages the candidate to list these areas and expound upon them in her or his résumé.

The community that we serve is Rock Hill, SC, located twenty-five miles south of Charlotte. It is a growing community of 75,000 residents and offers many outdoor recreational activities as well as numerous cultural opportunities. Rock Hill is home to Winthrop University, a public, coeducational institute of higher learning of over 6,000 students.
