Children's Christmas Pageant

A transformation of Oakland’s sanctuary took place on Dec. 5^th.  What once was a choir loft, pulpit, and baptismal became the town of Nazareth, Bethlehem, and King Herod’s palace.  The once recognizable children of Oakland all the sudden became angels, shepherds, barn yard animals, inn keepers, a two-person donkey and Israelites as nearly one- hundred children age 2 through 5^th grade acted out the true Christmas story.  The pageant, being in its third year, has become an anticipated program where the children bring the 2,000 year old story to life.  With no child over 5^th grade participating, the pageant has a sweet innocence that only a child could bring, as we celebrate the birth of baby Jesus.
