Our Program
Oakland Day School offers a Christian based half day preschool program for children
one through four years of age. Registration begins in February for fall classes. Tours
are given throughout the school year by calling the office at ( 803) 327-4400 to set
up an appointment.
We strive to help children make a pleasant journey from home to school. We help them learn about their world, develop socially, and begin learning academics appropriate to their age levels.
We offer learning experiences in language and literature, social relationships, math
and science, health and safety, and creative arts. The school ’ s curriculum centers on
self-concepts, family and community, and seasons and holidays. The curriculum contains
a balance of rigorous, stimulating activities and quiet, restful experiences.
The rooms are set up in activity centers which include a puzzle and games center, science
center, building area, art table, and group area. The outdoor playground and
gymnasium provide opportunity for physical exercise and play.
