Children at Oakland

Children's ministry at Oakland provides a wide array of opportunities for children to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

  • Our weekly Sunday School classes and summer Vacation Bible School invite children to experience the biblical stories.
  • Our Wednesday mission groups -- Mission Friends, RAs, and GAs -- along with a summer Mission: Possible camp build awareness of the world's needs and provide opportunities for children to meet those needs.
  • Our Kindermusik, children's choirs, and a summer Children's Music Camp help to nurture children musically and prepare them to lead the congregation in worship.
  • Our basketball teams engage more than 80 children and youth each year in learning teamwork, sportsmanship, and faith.

In addition to these church ministries, Oakland is home to Oakland Day School (a preschool program for ages 15 months to 4 years) as well as Cub and Boy Scout Troops.

We require and provide training in child safety and protection. You may read more here.
